Religious symbols & meaning in Hinduism

In Sanatana Dharma in Purans many religious symbols used and also peoples use these religious symbols, instruments and lamp (Deepak) in religious ceremony and pooja why these sign and things use in Sanatana Dharma? Is there any reason behind these symbols?

1. Swastik

Swastik is derived from Sanskrit word “Su” means “good or happy” and “Asti” means “Happen” in any religious ceremony Swastik is include because it is consider as good. Pooja or any religious ceremony start with Sawastik drawing it is used from ancient time and their four arms represent all sides and lucky things happen in all around the world. In Rig Veda Swastik represent as four sides of earth, Four arms of Brahma, Four heads of Brahma and four Vedas, Four Yugas, and Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha.

There are two types of Swastik Pratham and Vamawarak.

1.1 Pratham swastik

In Pratham swastik arms are in front side and this consider as good and sign of peace.

1.2 Vamawarak Swastik

In Vamawarak Swastik in this Swastik arms are in back side this consider as bad sign. In Hitler flag consist of Swastik sign but Hitler use this as a hate but this is sign of peace.

2. OM

Om represent whole world and it is a core of all Mantras. According Purans Om consist of three sounds “aa” “uu” and “m”. OM represents Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Energy of OM give us a positive energy and during utterance of OM our teethes, mouth, tong, alveolar palate, and lungs all parts of mouth used.

According to purans utterance of OM is very important from OM utterance power of concentration increase and destroys mental and internal problems.

3. Shankh (Conch shell)

Shankh (Conch shell) is found in every pooja house this only thing is necessary in pooja. In Hinduism before staring pooja they blow Shankh (Conch shell) is very important. According to Auther veda Shankh (Conch shell) kill demons and many gods use Shankh (Conch shell ). Lord Vishnu Panch Janya Shankh (Conch shell) is very important and represents victory. From sound of Shankh (Conch shell) our surrounding environment fills with positive energy and destroys negative energy. Shankh (Conch shell) was obtained from Samunder Manthan there are two types of Shankh (Conch shell) 1. Dakshana Warti and 2. Wamawarti.
